What are SDGs?

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 global goals established by the United Nations (UN) in September 2015 through UN General Assembly Resolution A/RES/70/1 as a universal development agenda until 2030.

SDGs are a continuation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) that ended in 2015. SDGs are more comprehensive with 17 goals, 169 targets, and 232 indicators covering social, economic, and environmental dimensions.
